*Note: I am not a very big fan of black metal as a genre, therefore the bands that DO manage to grab and hold my attention deserve the title of quality black metal. Also, I do not agree with all of the ideals of each band on this compilation, as some of them are National Socialist. However, I have chosen to separate the art from the artist, and enjoy the music for what it is: music. Lastly, bands like Emperor, Dark Funeral, Dimmu Borgir, Enslaved, etc - though I do enjoy some of their music - are not on this compilation because they are already on millions of other ones. The bands on this are ones that I feel deserve more attention and respect than they have been given.
